Abstract

Due to the wide diversity in morphological shape, arrangement of spines and thorns, variety in color and size of flowers, rapid growth, and inconspicuous nature, cactus have attracted significant attention as ornamental and cultivated flowering plants by many taxonomists. Generally, they prefer warm and arid conditions. The cactus plant plays an essential role in absorbing electromagnetic waves, atomic radiation, absorbing more (CO2) from the environment and reducing people's stress. The aim of this research is the cultivation, propagation, and maintenance of cactus in the climatic conditions of Sar-e-Pol province. The method of this field study was conducted in the spring and summer of 2023 in the center of Sar-e-pol city. The stages of growth and maintenance of the cactus were examined. The findings of this research showed that the cactus growth in Sar-e-Pol province is compatible and suitable for growth with any type of soil and water. The final results indicate that Sar-e-Pol province has high and suitable potential for cultivating this plant in the spring and early summer seasons. Therefore, attention to this plant and the development of cultivation and establishment of farms for its breeding in these regions can take important steps towards creating entrepreneurship and exploitation.
